Things I learned in 2019

It’s crazy how this year is coming to a close; I feel like time just passes faster the older you get. And even a slight bit faster when you have kids. I swear Tums was just born 4 months ago and not 9.

2019 was one of the worst years I’ve had in a very very long time. Dare I say it was just as bad if not worse than 2014? Cause it sure as hell felt like it — not to mention I also had to get on meds this year. That’s how rough it was.

Happy Blogtober πŸŽƒ

It’s officially October 1st!

And even though I like to start Fall prepping in July; I never think of blog/vlogtober prep. No matter how many years it’s been now.

I’ve decided this year to try my hand at doing both. I miss making content and maybe this will help spark up some inspo and get me back into the groove of creating content.

First of all; was the last time I really blogged when I was 33 weeks?!

Yikes, I have a lot of catching up to do! I also have a lot of foodie reviews I need to do on the family blog!

I don’t have anything fun or cool pre planned, I’m kinda just winging this so we’ll see how this goes… or rather how long I’ll last πŸ˜‚.

It’s not funny, but I’m hoping it will be. I think.

Are you planning on doing blog/vlogtober? Do you have any planned out topics if you are?

Pregnancy: 27 Weeks β†  Glucose Test

I don’t know why I find it so hard to update on my own dang pregnancy but it drives me crazy! I had hoped that I would keep this super organized archive of everything happening so when Baby Lo was born I could look back on it all and my experience. But to be honest in the last 27 weeks I think I’ve written like 3 pregnancy blog posts.

I’ve been at least trying to keep up with taking my weekly baby bump photos; though I wish I’d put a little more effort and “show” into them I guess. But baby bump selfies are super hard! Especially when my bump isn’t big enough and finding the angle for it to show in a photo is a struggle in itself!

Also weird because on thebump.com the objects were switched: 26 weeks was an Eggplant and 27 weeks was a Cauliflower. I guess the idea is the same though lol!

We had switched hospitals and doctors at the end of last month, our first appointment wouldn’t be after New Years. The whole process was a bit stressful, well stressful when you consider the time frames and how much time I had between now and giving birth. But thankfully the new hospital and the new doctor ended up accepting me despite being over 20-something weeks. Whew.

Backlog TBR 2019

gewd8871

I have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to reading including still getting around to these titles that I actually didn’t get around to last year β€” I don’t know why reading has just gotten so hard for me lately but it’s definitely been a struggle lately.

This is my TBR for 2019 that consists of books I already own and need to finish/didn’t get around to.

I, along with almost everyone else β€” developed a super soft spot for Rhysand last year. I’ve been working my way very very slowly through ACOWAR because ahhh the intensity! But I really need to finish this series and move on (and not hold on to it for 6 years like I have been with Unspoken)!

There are a couple of retellings I want to get around to β€” including the Twisted Tales series, Roseblood (I also need to finish the Splintered series) and Sea Witch. I do love retellings that focus on the villains the most!

34433755

I got this one at the end of the year in my Owlcrate and it’s one I thought sounded super interesting; this is definitely on my TBR along with a few other Owlcrate reads that I want to give a try!

These are the sequels to books I started last year and I still haven’t gotten around to. I wasn’t a huge fan of Warcross but that ending was a bit mind blowing!

Caraval was one that I wasn’t crazy about as soon as I had finished but after having some time to think about it, I kind of enjoyed it! Weird how that works, right?!

I’ve picked up and put down Red Queen so many times already and I don’t really know why. Same with The Cruel Prince. I just need to focus and stick through it! It’s not boring or anything but I don’t know, I think I’m a bit of a mood reader.

Strange The Dreamer is one that I’ve been meaning to pick up for awhile now. The size of it is just a bit intimidating. But I’ve heard so many good things about this title!

I know I’m missing some titles but I’m trying to make this as general as I can so I don’t go back like oh! I forgot to mention ___!

To follow my reading adventures add me on { GOODREADS } and I do most of my book blogging on READARELLA!

Hello, 2019

IMG_0882

I can’t believe it’s 2019… already.

But then again how many of us are saying that this week?!

Every year for the last few years I’ve done {onelittleword} and for the last 2 years Bubba has chosen my word for me β€” this year he picked L E A R N as my word for 2019.

As new parents (I can’t believe she’ll be here in a few months! It’s so crazy to think about!) this year we’re going to do a lot of learning and I’m determined to not be one of those parents who let their newborn change their life as drastically as everyone says they will.

I’ve never been friends with the concept of sleep; to be honest I’ve probably gotten more sleep since BEING pregnant, despite all the discomforts than I’ve gotten naturally since 2004. Like my biggest excitement is the ability to fall asleep at night WITHOUT sleeping aids as I’ve been heavily dependent on them to get me to sleep since 2004. Me and sleep just haven’t gotten along in a really long time.

In addition to being new parents I really want to get back into learning in general. I still need to learn the rest of French and I want to start learning Spanish. I want to relearn the social media world as well as how to make the most out of my blogging and getting back into graphic design. I want to learn how to bake. How to cook better meals. How to be a better version of myself.

There’s much power in knowledge and I feel like the last few years I’ve been in a haze of justΒ winging things; I want to go back to being that determined person with goals and intention.
